Gus Hansen, a.k.a. "The Great Dane," is on the rise in the poker world, though he was widely known just a few years ago primarily among the Danish competitive backgammon community. Born Gustav Hansen in Copenhagen, this intense young Dane has, in short order, become one of the fastest rising tournament poker players in the business. He’s made four final WPT tables in the past year and a half, and won three of them, netting close to $1.5 million in the process. He will soon be one of the game’s most recognizable figures.
This stylish, decorative plaque celebrates his triumph in the poker world. Measuring 14.5 x 12.5 inches, the plaque's frame is polished wood with a matte black finish. Two professionally-cut mat boards frame the items within the plaque, including an autographed picture of Gus in action, an engraved, brushed metal title plate, commemorating one of Gus's many astonishing achievements, a hand of 8 and 5 (Gus's favorite pocket cards) and two very limited edition poker chips.
